Private, Group, and/or Virtual Lessons

Private lessons are the most effective way to get personalized instruction with CSBC coaches. Each lesson is 45-60 minutes long. Once the coaches analyze the player’s needs, a plan is devised to better develop the athlete physically and athletically. Performance-based goals are also established with specific training techniques to help the athlete meet those goals.

Group lessons are a cost-effective way to learn with multiple athletes at one time in training-specific areas including pitching, hitting, catching, or fielding. There is less individual coaching with a group lesson, but all athletes will complete personalized drills and debrief with the coaches after the lesson.

Virtual lessons are also a great way to have CSBC coaches analyze a player’s performance through video  and create personal feedback and drills for the athlete. Once coaches evaluate the video, individualized instruction that includes technique adjustments are provided to the athlete to help improve specific skills and overall performance. Coaches take time analyzing and providing specific and detailed feedback. If further assistance is desired, a video conference and personal chat with the athlete is recommended at a fee of $25.

Consultations

Consultations will usually be 30 minutes and will be used to meet and discuss with athletes over their overall goals, whatever they may be. It is recommended that athletes know their metrics (Throwing velocity, exit velocity, 60 yard dash). We would also prefer video so the coaches can take a look at the player before we talk for honest assessment. During this Consultation we can discuss different options and plans on the athletes personal goal.

Examples: Gaining weight, getting stronger, throwing harder, hitting harder. Playing college baseball, what travel team should I be looking at ETC.

Chad can also consult with teams or coaches to develope practice or culture changing plans.

If the athlete or coach chooses to move forward with a plan the prices for the plans will be as listed above.

Coach Chad is a certified CrossFit instructor and can program workout plans for athletes. He is not a nutritionist, but can give tips on the best way to gain or lose weight diet based.

What our clients have to say:

“Chad is one of the brightest pitching minds I have had the pleasure to work with. His understanding of the biomechanics of pitching is spot on, but his attention to detail with his players and the way he explains what they need is unrivaled. His ability to communicate effectively and teach his players are qualities that most do not have. Simply put, he cares about the success of his players over himself and it shows with the relationships he has built and the trust he gains from his athletes and fellow coaches.”
Justin Devoid
Cornell University Assistant Coach
“I showed up to summer ball in Vermont wanting to develop a change up. Coach Sturg saw a lot of potential in me and believed that I was going to be able to throw a good change up and increase my velo. I started the summer sitting 91 and after working with Coach Sturg on some small mechanical changes all summer I sat 93 in my last outing and even hit 95. I consider Coach Sturg a lifetime coach and will continue to reach out for analysis and feedback. Sturg is not only a great coach, but an awesome guy!”
Matt McShane
St. Josephs University
“When I started working with Coach Sturgeon he encouraged me to get into the gym and focus towards increasing certain lifts that would help translate to the mound. Around this time I was 130 pounds, so I needed to gain some serious weight. He gave me various tips and tricks to get enough calories in during the day. This would help me gain 55 pounds in just under 2 years. Also throughout this time we got on the mound and really looked at my mechanics to see how we could improve them. We did a variety of drills, which translated very well to my fastball velocity, I went from sitting 78-80 the fall of my junior year to sitting 89-92 my senior spring”
